It’s likely that once you’re working on your project, pages may need to be added or deleted. Keep in mind the total number of pages should be divisible by 4 (or 16 for Smyth Sewn binding types) when you submit your project.
If you’re only trying to re-arrange pages, consider moving pages instead of deleting and adding. Read the article about Moving Pages for instructions.
Navigate to the Ladder from the Dashboard to add or delete pages from your book.
The Ladder can also be accessed from pages, but it is best to be on page #1 to avoid interfering with the addition or deletion of pages.
To add pages, click the Add Pages icon.
Note: If you do not see the Add Pages icon, please speak with your yearbook adviser.
Choose the type of page that you would like to add.
- Pages - this impacts the final page count of your book. The total pages must be divisible by 4 (or 16 for Smyth Sewn binding types).
Note: Chat with your yearbook provider if your final page count needs to be adjusted as it may alter the final book cost.
- Practice Covers - get a chance to play around with cover designs or have a cover design contest. Practice covers will not be printed.
Note: Save parts of your final design as Snippets to use on your cover, find details on saving Snippets here.
- Practice Pages – offer a space to learn how to use the page design tools or begin working on several themes before choosing one. They are added as a spread; so adding 1 Practice Page will result in a left and right facing page. Practice pages do not impact your final page count and will not be printed in your book.
Note: Save final designs as templates to be used on pages, find details on saving templates here.
- Practice Inside Covers or End Sheets – will only appear when the Inside Cover or Endsheets are being customized in the printed book. Just like all the other practice areas, they do not appear in the printed book, but offer the ability to design a variety of options before committing to a final design.
Note: If you decide to enable Inside Cover Printing or Custom Endsheets from Project Settings on the Dashboard, please communicate this change with your yearbook provider as it may alter the final cost of your book.
Fill in the number of pages you would like to add, indicate where to add them, and click Add. A window will appear confirming that your pages have been added.
If you come across the message below, the location chosen for the additional pages would break one or more of your linked spreads. Consider either adding an even number of pages, or identify the linked spreads and unlink them. You can re-link the pages when you are done.
Note: For help finding and unlinking spreads, check out the article Linking Pages.
First and foremost: understand that deleting pages is permanent!
Any work completed on a page will be deleted along with the page. Deleting pages reduces the total number of pages in your book which must be divisible by 4 (or 16 for Smyth Sewn binding) when you submit your project.
Navigate to the Ladder, if you are not already there.
Select the page or pages to delete and click the Delete icon at the top right of the Ladder. You will be asked to confirm whether or not the pages in question should be permanently deleted from your book. If you would like to proceed, click OK to delete the selected pages.
Note: If you do not see the Delete icon, please speak with your yearbook adviser.
If you see the message shown below, then the location of the pages that will be deleted would break one or more linked spreads. Consider either deleting an even number of pages, or identify the linked spreads and unlink them. You can re-link the pages when you are done.
Note: For assistance finding and unlinking spreads, check out the article Linking Pages.
